The Hong Kong-based real estate private equity firm communicates in the statement that the first vehicle will be used to seek real estate opportunities across various sectors in the Asia Market.
The second vehicle however will keenly invest in educational opportunities in major Asian cities. “with strong structural tailwinds supporting growth in demand for premium international or bilingual education,” noted the company. It will look to partner with top-tier school operators through greenfield or brownfield development, and through the acquisition of properties.
Christina Gaw, Managing Principal and Head of Capital Markets, commented, “We are delighted to close these new investment vehicles following Gateway Real Estate Fund VI’s highly successful fundraising round. Investor demand for education and other value-add and opportunistic opportunities in Asia reinforces our belief that such investments will play an increasingly important role in real estate portfolios moving forward.”
