Jakarta-headquartered ride-hailing giant Gojek announced it has successfully raised US$150 million from Telkomsel in a press statement dated November 17, 2020. Telkomsel is one of Indonesia’s leading network provider and a subsidiary of Telkom Indonesia and Singtel.
Gojek and Telkomsel already has a strategic multi-year partnership that that provided a vehicle for Telkomsel to offer affordable data packages to gojek driver-partners since 2018.
The Indonesia home-grown ride hailing startup received funding from Facebook and PayPal in its last round of funding about 6 months ago.
This deal is also part of Telkomsel’s journey to strengthen its three digital pillars: digital connectivity, digital platform and digital services.
